The Actor: The Audition

"OK who do we have next?" the casting director asked his associate.
"Taylor Reed," his associate answered handing him Taylor's head shots and resume.
"Oh, how'd he get in here?" he asked puzzled, "Doesn't he know we aren't casting the boyfriend role yet?"
"No, his agent said to give him a chance," the associate replied.
"OK, let's get this over with," he said stretching, "send him in."
Everyone was stunned as Taylor entered the room. There was no sign of Taylor the cocky actor they were expecting. In his place was a gorgeous young actress. Her skin was smooth and hairless, her legs long and shapely, her blonde hair thick and wavy, and her face and nails were expertly made up. She was wearing a teal dress that ended a few inches above the knee, 5" open toed heels that showed off her shiny painted toenails, a few pieces of jewelry, and a pair of sunglasses. At the top of her dress ample cleavage was on display. Her breasts looked and felt real, as Taylor's makeup artist had created the breasts Lee Pace had worn in the movie Soldier's Girl and these breasts were sculpted to fit and move naturally on Taylor's body. Luckily she had no visible Adam's apple so hiding it wouldn't be an issue. She stopped in front of them and took off her sunglasses. She brushed a strand of hair out of her face and bit her lip as she waited for their reaction.
"Wow, I can't believe you're the same Taylor Reed who starred in Malibu Beach Party 5," the casting director said looking her over, "please sit down. You may look like a young actress, but let's see if you can act the role. Have you read through the script?"
"Yes, sir," she answered in a female voice she had practiced for the sitcom a couple years ago, and perfected to sound more realistic as she prepared for the audition.
"Nice job on the voice," he said as he opened the script, "we'll be reading from Act 1, Scene 3."
Taylor sat down and crossed her legs. She opened to the scene and they began reading lines. In the scene, the character had just found out her series had been cancelled and had been approached by TMZ. They finished the scene and went over a couple more further in the script. The next one was a scene in which the character is arrested, and the last scene was one in which she is outed as a lesbian and is shunned by her family. After they finished they told her that they were impressed and would let her know soon. She thanked them and went out to the hall where she ran into one of her ex-girlfriends. She recognized him because she had been his co-star on the sitcom.
"Taylor?" the actress said, "Is that you?"
"Yes, Brooke," she said somewhat embarrassed.
"I had heard you were going to audition for this, but wow," Brooke said looking her over, "you look even better than you did in that cheerleading episode."
"Thanks," Taylor replied blushing, "listen I didn't know you were auditioning for this role. I don't want to take this from you, I'll tell them I've changed my mind."
"No way," Brooke said stopping her, "after all you went through for this audition, I'm the one who will be stepping aside. I might try out for the lesbian lover though."
Brooke told the casting director she had decided not to audition and left with Taylor. There were now five up for the role, including Taylor, and it was soon narrowed to three. Brooke auditioned for the lesbian lover, and was one of the finalists for the role. After spending the day catching up with Brooke, Taylor went to her makeup artist to change back into Taylor the guy.
Some time later, Taylor was at home watching TV with Brooke, whom he had gotten back together with, when he got a phone call. He checked the number and saw it was his agent.
"Hey, Taylor," his agent said, "I've got good news and bad news."
"Give it to me," Taylor said nervously.
"The bad news is," his agent began, "you're gonna have to get used to wearing heels cause you got the part."
"Thanks, Bob," Taylor said excitedly.
They talked for a few minutes before he hung up and told his girlfriend the good news. She kissed him and told him this was a major step in his acting career. Taylor was both excited and nervous for the role. While he was excited to finally be doing something challenging, he was nervous as to how people would respond to his playing a female character, especially since the character's name had been changed to Taylor Reed.
